Clemson volleyball took the win in each of its three matches in the annual Big Orange Bash home tournament this weekend, giving the Tigers a strong opening to their 2022 season.

The home court advantage at Jervey Gym proved to be true, as the Tigers won 9 of their total 10 sets played.

The Tigers first went on to win 3-1 against Austin Peay on Friday night.

After Clemson took the first set 25-23, Austin Peay followed suit with the same winning score in the next set. The Tigers then rebounded to win set three, 25-17, and the final set, 25-23, to win the match.

In the opening match, junior right side outside hitter Camryn Hannah took control of the court. Hannah recorded 26 of the Tigers’ 66 kills against Austin Peay and led the team in points with 27.5.

On Saturday, Louisiana Tech did not seem to faze the Tigers, as Clemson won all three sets.

Hannah scored another 12 points against Louisiana Tech, and freshman outside hitter Mia McGrath proved to be another valuable Clemson asset.

McGrath racked up 15 points in the match, led the Tigers in solo blocks with two and scored three aces.

In Clemson’s final match of the Big Orange Bash, the Tigers swept Presbyterian, winning all three sets.

Hannah had another strong performance against Presbyterian, leading the Tigers in kills and points.

Meanwhile, senior middle blocker Ani Clark was second on the team in kills with 12.

Now 3-0 on the season, Clemson will play Jacksonville State on Friday as the Tigers host the Clemson Invitational.
